God damn Planet Side 2 is so much fun. Our platoon leader abandoned us and logged off when we lost a battle. So some guy who had never been a leader before decided to step up.

I thought we were all screwed but he did a really good job. We started doing multiple strikes against the enemy on different parts of the continent and started holding our own against one of the enemies, who had like twice as many people online as us.

He told my squad to hold this one place as a distraction while the rest of the platoon moved on to a more important location. It was like the god damn alamo. We held out for an hour against a force twice as big as ours. Then we all retreated and regrouped with the main force of the platoon and attacked this other place, got trapped inside of it once we captured it, and then held off another assault that had a million times more people than us. Then we actually pushed them back and started beating them back to their own base somehow.

My roommate this year was a Chinese exchange student. They said don’t trust them son, don’t trust the communists. They’re evil. But my roommate was pretty cool and we got along pretty well. We even discussed the pros and cons of centrally planned economics. I thought, they’re not so bad at all!

He moved out a few hours ago. I went over to the trash can a moment ago to throw something out, and you know what I saw in there? An opened bag of Pepperidge Farm Milanos. One missing cookie. Just an opened bag. In the trash.

I don’t know who or what is going anymore in this world.

But I did figure out I’m not ashamed to eat cookies out of the trash.
